George Laidlaw Railway Entreprenure in Kawarthas
My Family History runs deep in the Kawarthas. Let me show you the past and present, Balsam lake and the Laidlaw historical dry stone fence, the narrow gauge railways history.
Balsam Lake is my home lake and my family has great historical roots here starting with George Laidlaw. Currently we own the highest point of property on along the Trent-Severn Waterway. On the west side, water flows westward into the Severn system to Georgian Bay. On the east side, it flows eastward into Cameron Lake down to Lake Ontario. The lake receives water from the Canadian shield in the north and Gull River, as well from the lands immediately surrounding the lake. It is a spring fed lake which offers clean and clear waters. A summer and winter paradise! Growing up on Balsam Lake and knowing it so well can provide you with valuable information to waterfront quality properties on the lake.
Check out Our Beautiful Area of the Kawarthas. Great Waterfrontage properties and residential properties for you to find. Give me a call.

Historical and Longest Laidlaw Dry Stone Wall is apparently the longest in Canada. Part of my childhood lies in exploring the nooks and crannies of the fence. Unique.
Shadow Lake Is a beautiful and diversified lake. Clean water and offers great swimming and boating. Lies between Coboconk and Norland
Fishing information and maps in the Kawarthas. I have been involved with Lures and Tours for the past 7 years, It is a wealth of knowledge and a well put together book and map provide valuable information to tourists and fisherman alike.
My own wonderful experience as I was in a (small) part of the movie. Very informative and relevant. George Laidlaws and his mason used the stone on the area to create the larger story dry stone fence in Canada.Has great Georgrahical signifacance and Part our Kawarthas.

Currently my home and office on Balsam lake in Coboconk.. loving known as Coby. "The Summit Festival will be held on June 30th & July 1, 2017 in celebration of Canada's 150th! The wharf in Coboconk was designated as a location of significance in 2009, as Balsam Lake was officially recognized as Canada's highest body of fresh water from which one can circumnavigate the world by seaworthy vessel."
